What's the difference between brush hogging and brush clearing?

Accepted Answer

Brush hogging is cutting heavy growth with a rotary cutter behind a tractor — the workhorse for fields, lots, and acreage. Brush clearing is the broader job, which can also mean hand work, fence lines, and hauling out what's in there. Most properties need some of both, and we'll tell you which after we look.

How big does the growth get before you can't cut it?

We handle heavy weeds, briar, and saplings. Once it's grown into real trees, that's a different machine and a different conversation — ask us and we'll tell you straight which side of the line your property is on.

Can you get on steep ground?

Accepted Answer

Usually. Grade is the first thing we assess on the walkthrough. If it's beyond what we can run safely, we'll say so rather than risk the equipment or the operator.

What about trash and dumping?

Accepted Answer

Very common on lots that have been hidden for a few years. Tell us if you know it's there, and we'll price removal into the job instead of discovering it mid-cut.

Is this a one-time job or ongoing?

Accepted Answer

Both work. A first cut is heavy; keeping it down after that is cheap. A lot of owners do one clearing and then put it on an annual or twice-yearly cut.
